It’s getting cold out there! What to do to prepare for winter gelato sales.

Winter is knocking on our doors, and before we know it, we’ll soon be shaking off our winter woolies and snuggling in for the season, if we haven’t already!

While gelato and ice cream are often synonymous with the glory days of summer, there are lots of opportunities to continue booming through the chillier months.

With consumer spending on the rise once more and expected to stay strong, it’s a good time to take stock of your gelato flavours and mix things up.

Gelato and ice cream habits may start to shift in winter, but that’s no reason for gelato shops to turn the lights down low.

We’d recommend showcasing richer, heavier flavours during the colder months. Lots of gelato and ice cream customers love indulging in treats - no matter the time of year - and will be turning to these rich indulgent options.

Chocolate is of course a much-loved flavour and wintertime is great for serving up rich slatherings of dark chocolate. Or turn to the nut flavours, like our hazelnut praline or our dark-roast pistachio paste.

Don’t forget that ice cream is often served alongside winter desserts - well, desserts in any season, really! Maybe it’s also time to get creative and whip up some new dessert combinations?
